Abstract: This article proposes a theoretical and practical approach of the criminal profiling and underlines its importance for the criminal investigation domain. The process by which are indicated the personality characteristics of a crime author, taking into account the analysis of the crime scene, various types of personalities of the perpetrators to criminal activity, the statistical data of similar acts can be called “criminal profiling”, although there is no unanimously accepted definition so far.
