Abstract: There is a clear link between the rule of law and the independence of prosecutors.

In order to carry out their activity in accordance with the principles of legality and impartiality, prosecutors must be truly independent, their independence being part of the independence of the judiciary.

The rule of law is based on the principle of the supremacy of law, but it also presupposes the idea of moral, ethical, political and juridical responsibility.
